Bond 25 is the provisional title of a British-American espionage film directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, whose release is scheduled for 2020. Twenty-fifth James Bond's film adventure produced by EON Productions, the film starring Daniel Craig who embodies for the fifth and last time the secret agent after Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and 007 Specter.
James Bond is no longer on duty and enjoys a quiet life in Jamaica. But his respite is short-lived as CIA agent Felix Leiter returns to ask for his help. His mission, which is to rescue a kidnapped scientist, will prove to be more treacherous than expected and lead 007 on the trail of a bad guy with a particularly dangerous new technology.
Danny Boyle was originally scheduled to direct the film, but on August 21, 2018, he leaves the project for artistic disputes. Many rumors suggest that the scenario then developed by Danny Boyle and his fellow John Hodge included the death of the main character. This would have displeased and other rumors report disagreements in the director and Daniel Craig. In March 2019, Danny Boyle will explain in more detail why he left for Empire Magazine. He states, "I learned a lot about myself when I worked on the James Bond movie. I work alongside writers and I'm not ready for this collaboration to stop. [...] We worked very, very well, but they did not want to take this path. So we decided to separate, and it would be unfair to say why because I do not know what Cary Fukunaga is doing. He sent me a very nice message, I wish him the best ... But it's really bad. Danny Boyle adds, "What John Hodges and I did was, I think, really good. It was not over, but it could have been really good. We must believe in its mode of operation and part of mine is the relationship I have with a screenwriter. It's like saying we're going to give you a different editor ... These fundamental relationships are vital".
On September 20, 2018, Cary Joji Fukunaga is announced as director in the place of Danny Boyle. Filming begins on March 4, 2019, at Pinewood Studios and will be released worldwide on February 14, 2020.
In early January 2019, it is announced that screenwriter Paul Haggis, who worked on Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, was called to refine the screenplay after the departure of Danny Boyle and John Hodge. Scott Z. Burns is then committed to a complete rewrite of the script, considered "imperfect" and "unsatisfactory" for four weeks. We also learn that the production would have sought to engage for many months but that it would have been available only recently to work on Bond 25. Cary Joji Fukunaga also makes a script version early 2019. The producers and Daniel Craig are excited about his work.

To incarnate the main villain, many rumors announce Rami Malek, just out of success and rewards for Bohemian Rhapsody. The production is even ready to modify its schedule so that the actor can ensure the shooting of the Mr. Robot series. In March 2019, Sebastien Soudais, dubbed by Rami Malek, implied via Instagram that the actor would have been chosen to take the role of the villain.
